Make plans to attend the most spectacular party of the year as The Art Studio, Inc. celebrates 40 years serving the Southeast Texas arts community. TASI will host the Beaux Arts Ball: Ruby Anniversary on Jan. 21, to support its art education programs, encourage membership, and celebrate the accomplishments of the past four decades.
Regular attendees of the annual event may be used to dressing in outlandish themed costumes, but this year’s twist is that the dress code is simply formal. “With all the music, dancing, performance art, fashion and drag shows, this is going to be THE don’t-miss art event of the year,” event organizer Grace Mathis said. “The Beaux Arts Ball is a great occasion to bust out an avant-garde look or just dress in your finest attire. All are welcome!”
A silent auction of original artwork will add to the creative atmosphere. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and desserts from an array of local restaurants and a cash bar will be providedThe honorary chairperson Jackie Simien will serve as MC, with DJ Sk8 and sinuendo ensuring a lively dance floor throughout the night. Magician Cory Neyland, and drag queens Olivia Gardner, Ravenikka Knix, and Aurora Spindle are among the event’s scheduled performers. There will also be a “Grand Promenade” of fashions in which stylish attendees will be invited to participate alongside local designers. The event is planned for 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Jan. 21 at The Art Studio, 720 Franklin St. in downtown Beaumont. Attendees looking to continue the night even later will enjoy free entrance to the afterparty at Madison’s on Dowlen.
“The Art Studio has made its mark on many levels. Our first goals included developing a gallery, classes, and community outreach – vital programs which we still work to make available to the public with the help of our supporters,” said Greg Busceme, TASI founder and Executive Director. “We will always advocate for the creativity of our artists and have a place for everyone to benefit from the vast ways art can make us well and happy.”
Since its founding in 1983, the non-profit The Art Studio, Inc. has filled a unique niche in the community by providing affordable studio space for artists, educational programs for all ages, and free exhibitions where anyone can engage with art and artists. The Beaux Arts Ball provides an additional avenue to encourage creative expression, something that has always been at the core of the Studio’s mission. TASI is seeking sponsors for this event to help continue its crucial work bringing the arts to Southeast Texas. Visit www.artstudio.org/becomeasponsor or contact us for more information.
