Film takes longer than digital, it’s a laborious process, storage can be a pain, and your phone or digital camera is more than adequate in many situations. And yet, there is a feeling of accomplishment and pride when you shoot, develop, and produce a photograph. It’s a blend of chemistry, light, emotion, calculations, and creativity.
I shoot about 50/50 digital and analog. For me, film provides a more intimate and personal connection. I’ve noticed people tend to be more comfortable when in front of a film camera as well. There’s something beautiful and intangible about it all, and I love it
