‘New ‘Zine, Who Dis’?’

As Andy Coughlan retired as Editor of the Art Studio Inc’s monthly publication the ISSUE in 2020 we here at TASI have been thinking hard about what could possibly comes next.

We have decided to make a break from the newsprint magazine format. The new publication will be a bit of a throwback. Originally TASI’s newsletter was titled “STUDIO INK” and as we move forward we’d also like to pay homage to were we have been by using this name once again. We acknowledge the ISSUE was much more than a newsletter for TASI and we plan to maintain that in this “new” ‘Zine.

While STUDIO INK will focus on exhibitions and events at TASI it will also cover so much more. New features will include: Made In Southeast Texas (M.I.S.T.) and a review of amazing arts events you may have missed (FOMO.) We hope to walk the line between grassroots and professional, practical as well as whimsical and thought provoking. The poetry section Thoughtcrimes will continue.

When Thoughtcrimes was it’s own separate publication.

To get involved or if you have any article ideas to pitch, email the editor at ink@artstudio.org (Please be patient as this email is checked monthly.)

The first year of STUDIO INK (2021) came together nicely with Olivia Busceme, Editor and many local writers, artists and content creators were published along with information about exhibitions and upcoming events at The Art Studio, Inc.

Various levels of Sponsorship are available to help support the publication from $40 a month to $250 for a full page color ad. Sponsors will get complimentary copies.
