The Moon and Stars Committee, a volunteer of friends to the Beaumont Council of Garden Clubs, has announced their 2016 Beaumont Maypole Festival. The second-annual festival will be held at the Beaumont Botanical Gardens May 7.
“The Maypole was constructed in memory of Paula “Torchy” Salter to honor the loving, giving spirit she was and designed to provide our community with an annual fun loving, spirit filled event with fairies, dance and costumes during the Maypole Festival’s “blessing of the crops” for all ages, for years to come,” a release states.
Bonnie Cokinos School of Dance will perform the Maypole Dance at 4:30 p.m.
“Browse Local art vendors, bring a blanket and a picnic or visit Dat Macs food truck on site for the Festival. Enjoy Entertainment by The Belly Dance Studio, and more.”
Admission is free. The event is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
