High Street Gallery to host Sheila Busceme art, April 29

SHEILA art (1)BEAUMONT — The High Street Gallery will host an exhibition of drawings by Sheila Busceme, 7-10 p.m., April 29. The gallery is located in Victoria House, 2110 Victoria St. in Beaumont.

“If I were to describe it, the closest descriptive word I could come up with would be eclectic,” Busceme said of her work. “I love to explore different media. Some methods stay with me; some do not. As of now I work in colored pencil, wax pastel, oil pastel, acrylics and sometimes watercolor.”

Busceme is a self-taught artist in Beaumont. The title of the exhibition, “Light Color Music And Mood,” refers to the things that most influence her while she works.

“I want to provoke the viewer to find an emotional connection to the piece they are looking at,” she said. “In some cases I tried to let there be a message I want to convey. Then in others I want the viewer to feel the expression of emotio and even humor in others. Most of all enjoyment is my goal.”

The opening reception is open to the public. Entry is free and the work will be for sale. Refreshments will be available at the event.
