Learn all the basics of painting from still life as well as color theory and everything in between with your instructor Virginia Johnson. This class is designed for beginners to intermediates in the art of painting, ages 18 and up. Students will be practicing with acrylics on paper and canvas. Recommended to bring an apron or clothes you don’t mind getting stained.

During this special single-session workshop, students will learn and participate in the Japanese art of raku from master ceramist Greg Busceme, Sr. Each student will receive two small ceramic items to glaze in their choice of colors, then witness the raku firing process to reveal their finished pieces to take home! All materials provided. No prior experience needed, this is a beginner level class for ages 18 and up.

Interested in learning the art of drawing, but don’t know where to start? This is the class for you! Over the course of three two-hour sessions, adult students from beginner and intermediate levels will hone the basics and sharpen their art skills using pencils, graphite, and charcoal with a focus on drawing the human figure.

During the four sessions over two weekends, photographer James Blaign Rambo will teach beginner-level students the ins and outs of using a film camera, developing images in the darkroom, and printing black and white photographs. The class includes an outing to capture photos outdoors and students will keep their own prints as well as digital scans of their photographs. Chemicals will stain clothes, please dress accordingly. Ages 18+ only.

Instructor Elizabeth Fontenot will teach all the essentials of low-tech screen printing including photo emulsion. Students will be able to bring home everything they create throughout the class to have some awesome original artwork or handmade gifts! Please bring an apron and/or clothes you don’t mind getting stained. This is a beginner-level class for ages 16 and up.

Over the course of six sessions, students will learn handbuilding techniques in clay, as well as glazing and raku firing, from expert ceramist Greg Busceme. Take home your very own ceramic creations at the end of the course! No prior experience needed, this is a beginner level class.

Do you have a teen with a serious desire to make art? This six-session course will provide essential lessons in ceramics to introduce your young person to essential know-how including handbuilding techniques in clay, the science of glazing, and a live raku firing experience! Walk-ins always welcome to our monthly open creative meetups!

No pre-registration for these recurring events, but a small fee for participants helps cover the costs of our dedicated instructors and models.

Join instructor Karey Richard for an inclusive art lesson! Participate in adaptive art projects that anyone can enjoy, created especially for budding artists with special needs, and their siblings! Feel free to contact us in advance to prepare for any specific needs or adaptive tools that would be especially helpful. All students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the class. All ages 8+.

Come by TASI on a chill weeknight for HOOPS & HANGS with Cherish Eve! Practice new techniques and get your body moving in a fun and casual social setting. Bring your own hoop or borrow/buy one of Cherish’s handmade water-weighted hoops. The hoop group will meet in TASI’s galleries while the weekly Life Drawing group meets in the TASI classroom. Snacks welcome, dress for comfort and movement. Ages 13+
