“Outer Space and Dirty Martini”… So I recently got my house painted a different color and when I was in the store I was thinking about how they definitely use the names of certain colors to appeal to different personalities. For the new color scheme I was selecting these two names popped out at me immediately haha. Since I was aware of the psychology behind it I took plenty of other samples back home, but in the end I still liked these two colors the best. I thought It was pretty funny because the two names match my individual personality pretty well, even though in my previous life I was more like a large glass of vodka guy rather than a dirty martini haha. Andy Coughlan is a native of Brighton, England and has lived in Southeast Texas for more than 30 years. An Art Studio tenant for 18 years, he is an exhibiting artist with seven solo exhibitions to his name and numerous group shows. He is also editor of ISSUE, the monthly arts magazine of The Art Studio, Inc., and has won multiple awards for his arts reviews, features, design and photography both for ISSUE and his award-winning blog. He is a playwright (and member of the Dramatist Guild of America), actor, director and writer, and he draws the weekly Sunday editorial cartoon for the Beaumont Enterprise. Coughlan is also the advisor to the University Press, the award-winning student newspaper of Lamar University.
