Grace Chadwick’s “Delicate Disorder” on view now in the Maudee
“Inspired by the visual stories from comics, games, and animated films I consumed growing up, I chose imagery that gave me peace and that I had familiarity with,” Chadwick said, “Nature, animals, and women in folk tales can be seen as delicate, hurt easily by those who wish them harm. But they are also powerful and beautiful in form and in life. Embracing this, I create figures of elemental women who may be delicate like a flower or a flame, but are powerful and confident in their skin.”
