When people suffer from trauma, loss, or thoughts of suicide, artistic expression serves as a vital and nurturing component in the healing process. To engage the community in the healing power of art, during National Suicide Prevention Month, The Art Studio Inc. invites you to submit your original art to The Art of Mental Health exhibition “Visions of Hope”.
Entry dates: September 19 – 21, noon-5pm
Opening reception: Sunday, Sept. 24, 2-6pm
Artwork on view: Tues—Sat, Sept. 26 – 30, noon-5pm
Closing reception and spoken word presentation:
Saturday, Sept. 30, 4-5pm
Pickup of artwork:
October 3 – 7, noon-5pm
There are two ways to participate in the exhibition. All entries must be hopeful, inspirational, and overall life-affirming.
Spoken Word entries:
The poetry reading/spoken word presentation will be held at The Art Of Mental Health: Visions of Hope closing reception from 4-5 pm, September 30 at The Art Studio, Inc.
You may submit more than one entry. You may submit music or reading by another writer, as long as the original author is credited. All entries must be submitted online by September 21, 2023 (Th) by 5:00 p.m. and will be selected based on time propriety.
Visual Art entries:
Artwork must be delivered in person and adhere to the guidelines below. If you don’t have your entry form printed and filled out in advance, there will be copies available to fill out and attach when you drop off your work.
