Beaumont Community Players will continue its 2018-2019 Texas Strong Season (#BCPTexasstrong) with the award-winning play, “Calendar Girls” by Tim Firth.
This heartwarming comedy will be performed at the Betty Greenberg Center for Performing Arts located at 4155 Laurel Ave. in Beaumont and is directed by BCP favorite Gina Hinson.
The story: When Annie’s husband dies of leukemia, she and best friend Chris resolve to raise money to help the local hospital. They manage to persuade four friends to pose nude with them for an “alternative” calendar. The news of the women’s charitable venture spreads like wildfire, and hordes of press soon descend on the small village.
The calendar is a success, but Chris and Annie’s friendship is put to the test under the strain of their new found fame.
